Zeromile Magazine Issue 14

The Objective

As a class, we all participated in developing and publishing a student lead magazine called Zeromile. We divided the work and filled positions reflective of an actual magazine production team to learn how to work together to bring our project to fruition.

The Solution

As one of two graphic designers, I was presented with designing the back cover, a release party poster, and my own article in the magazine. I researched possible topics that fit the theme of the magazine which was “fusion” and chose fusion of man and machine. I selected my subjects and wrote my article which was approved and edited by our editors to then design the layout of my article. The entire process was very informative and had a lot of hands-on teamwork with plenty of back-and-forth critiques and feedback that helped me refine my work and improve my skillset as a designer.

As mentioned before, we went through various rounds of critiques and feedback. We would often print our drafts and hang them up on the wall to have group critiques, write notes on them, show our progress, and make sure everything is uniform and following the guidelines we made, but made sure each of our works felt unique and impactful.
